It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas

C hristmas T ime again, It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go, Cave shepard had it’s first Christmas sale on Saturday November 5th , customers rushing through taking advantage of the big Christmas sale 20% off perfumes, 40% off  books and more, items in one hand and gift wrap paper in the other hand a heavenly mixture of different colognes and perfume as ladies and gents tried on different perfumes trying to make a quick decision on what to get before the sale time was up.
We all love Christmas time we must admit; the ham, the turkey, the jug jug, the drinks, gifts, family and last but certainly not least THE RUM CAKE can’t forget the rum cake, if you don’t got rum cake you don’t got Christmas, the rum cake is simply the “bajan” tradition “De party don’t end till all a de rum cake gone”.
Walking through the city and seeing all the beautiful Christmas decorations up already, gets most of us so excited and ready for the holiday season but for others it’s quite upsetting. There has been discussions buzzing all through Barbados on blogging websites, social networks and other media outlets that selling decorations for Christmas in November, is a sign of disrespect to our country and that all of us should be ashamed of ourselves for neglecting the month of our independence to focus on a month where we practically have to face recession after it has come and gone.
Folks, it’s important to remember that the Christmas season isn’t just about food, drinks and gifts it’s about love, giving and Jesus Christ our Lord and savior and it’s important that also take time out to acknowledge that November is the month of our independence. I know some of you are very excited that Christmas is coming but get out there and go to a few of the upcoming Independence events grab a few conkies and enjoy our independence. Happy 45th Independence and Seasons Greetings in advance.

Women Re-Define Yourselves

The feeling of insult, disrespect and anger flush through my entire body when I decided to take a stroll through the city (Bridgetown) to see what’s new in terms of developments and the fashion dos and don’ts. It frustrates the living day lights out of me to see that fashion designers and using less and less material to make clothing for women everyday and these women are wearing these pieces of clothing even if they are not comfortable wearing them they still do just because it’s what’s in style? I believe that women need to redefine themselves, women we need to redefine who we are, our worth should not be determined by the media or the opinions of the opposite sex. Suddenly we are rated as sheeps? And songs are being created to make us expose ourselves in vulgar ways without us consciously being aware that we are doing so? Songs such as “Fruit Loops” and “6:30” which has just be upgraded to 6:45? Songs that give us instructions to put ourselves in some of the most uncomfortable and compromising positions? Is this the behavior we display then have the guts to call ourselves women? Born to be the mothers of the nation to give that motherly love and every other good thing that we are blessed with as women and we go out and let ourselves be used as entertainment in such a disrespect and provocative way? Is this what we have become? To allow ourselves to be throw onto the ground as men jump off tables onto our bodies causing pains somewhere or the other? Is this what has become of us? Where what use to be used as a sign of decency when going church (stockings) we now use to go feting as an excuse to wear our underwear on the outside? “WOMEN” SAVE THAT NON SENSE FOR BATMAN AND ROBIN leave them to run around outside in public in leggings with their undies on the outside for everyone to see. Where are the women who are educated and focused on bettering their lives? Where are the women who want to settle down, get married and have a family of their own? Where are the women with dreams and ambitions? Where are my Michele Obamas, Oprahs, India Aries, Maya Angelous. Hurts to see the direction that the young girls and women of today are taking, the country’s population can not increase without us. The way we are throwing ourselves around like we are nothing yes the population can still increase it will increase rapidly aswell because of the teenage pregnancies and the young girls and their promiscuity but who will teach the off springs what’s right from wrong and how to be good adults? How can we bring up proper and healthy kids if we ourselves don’t give a damn? Ladies Re-define yourselves, the future of our nation depend on it.

No Such Thing As Love Music Any more?

I know this is one sure to start up some heat around here. Oh Dear Oh Dear where do I start. First things first, where HAS ALL THE GOOD MUSIC GONE? The good love songs that really expressed how you feel? there is no way possible you can dare compare Luther Vandross, Keith Sweat, Joe, Gerald Levert, Celine DGinuwine and more to Trey Songz. You can not dare compare Luther Vandross "If only for one night" to Chris Brown ft Keri Hilson "One night stand". Seems like recently most of the songs coming out are mainly about one night stands, "great sex" and having an outside man or woman, No wonder these damn kids know nothing about being faithful. Music has such a strong effect on our emotions can make you feel happy, motivated, angry, sad and so on I bet you there is a song for every scenario trust me.

Hey Hey, don't think I'm hating on the new artist or anything I love me some trey songz music "Neighbours Know My Name" and "Love Faces" just take the cake so I'm definitely not hating and don't talk about the legendary "Hump" song "Dot Com" by usher talk about fire? Woo! But what I am really trying to get at is that the new generations now hardly know anything about true love music, we do have recent love songs but gosh Keyshia Cole - Take Me Away can not compare to Patti Labells - If you ask me too nor can it even compare to Whitney Houston - I want to run to you. Things have changed and they are changing for the worst we are becoming a world that is revolved around money and sex HELL I want to get married and have a bunch of little Christinas and whoever RUNNING AROUND a home of my own. I believe in love I believe in sticking it out to the end and making the best of a relationship not as soon as that person piss me off I put in my head phones and start singing "Regret" by Letoya Luckett or "Goodbye" by Kristinia Debarge, again I say I have nothing against these songs all the songs I'm listing are songs I actually do like but I'm just stating the difference.

And folks the moral of this article is BRING BACK THE OLD TIMES REWIND TO THE TIMES WHEN TO FALL IN LOVE WAS A DREAM WE SO DESIRE TO SEEK AND CHIVALRY WAS ALIVE.

Think For Yourself

OKAY FOLKS, I’m getting a KICK out of doing these blogging things, I’m just expressing myself and letting it all go. So question, WHAT’S UP WITH THE LACK OF CREATIVITY in our country? The lack of individuality? Everyone just seems to do follow pattern, come on people WHERE ARE YOUR BRAINS? Use them . . .
I have witnessed this situation happening all seventeen years of my life not that I can remember all seventeen years of my life but YOU GET THE PICTURE MR! or Mrs! Or Miss? Ughh! U get the POINT!
Why is that people see “standing out” or being “unique” as such a sin? A crime? A typical should not ever do idea? It’s like when you do make that “Bold” step to do something that isn’t the “norm” the facial expressions of people passing you by is like they just seen a ghost :o It’s like OH DEAR, OH MY WHAT HAS SHE/HE DONE, WHY DID THEY? HOW COULD THEY? OH NO! . . . .
This article pokes fun mainly at the youths in the country especially those who waste their parents HARD EARN MONEY on clothes that don't even suit their body structure just because it is in style?

HELLO WAKE UP FOLKS! Why would you want to walk around looking like BUY ONE GET ONE FREE? Come on, each of us were born with different tastes, likes and dislikes. We were created with everything we need to make us the unique individuals that we are if you were not born a twin why try to become someone else's through out your life? Walking around the place with the same exact clothes as your "friend" next to you just different colours is so not cute it says I DO NOT HAVE A MIND OF MY OWN THINK FOR ME, I HAVE NO CREATIVITY, SAVE ME.
Word to the wise; Only unique people are irreplaceable so if you want to be irreplaceable be unique so there is no one else like you.
